What’s in a name? A Legacy Lives On
Chris Joseph Caserta Jr
July 14, 1956 - November 20, 2021
Chris Caserta — mentor, leader, friend — left a mark on C2 Legacy Tax Associates that continues to guide us every day. When Chris passed in 2021, we lost a brilliant tax professional, a patient teacher, and a steady hand who believed deeply in integrity, service, and the people behind the numbers. Naming our firm in his honor was the only fitting way to keep his standards and spirit at the center of our work.
Chris was more than a boss. He led by example: meticulous in his craft, fearless in facing complex tax challenges, and generous with the knowledge that turned confusion into confidence for clients and colleagues alike. He taught us to listen first, to ask the right questions, and to take responsibility for outcomes. Those lessons have become the foundation of our practice.
As a mentor, Chris had an uncommon gift for simplifying the complicated. He took time to explain concepts, to walk through scenarios, to review returns line by line, and to share the rationale behind each decision. He celebrated learning and held everyone to high standards—not to intimidate, but to elevate us. Many of us trace the arc of our careers to conversations we had with him over the years.
As a friend, Chris was warm, straightforward, and loyal. He cared about people beyond the office: celebrating milestones, offering a steady shoulder in difficult times, and making room for humor even in busy seasons. His kindness helped build the trusting culture that defines C2 Legacy Tax Associates today.
We named the firm for Chris because his legacy is not static. It lives in how we treat clients—with respect, discretion, and a commitment to outcomes. It lives in how we mentor new team members, insisting on clarity and competence. It lives in our belief that technical excellence must be matched by compassion.
On anniversaries and in everyday practice, we honor Chris by doing the work the way he would: precisely, honestly, and with the client’s best interest at heart. We miss his counsel and his presence, but his influence remains our standard.
To Chris Caserta — thank you for the lessons, the leadership, and the example. Your legacy guides us still.
